Horse Treks on our farm are self-guided and an opportunity for people who own,
or have access to a horse to have an inexpensive and exciting days trek in a new environment.
The trails vary in length from 6 km to 14 kms
with a mixture of abilities available, from easy to experienced.
All of the trails are looped and if keen, riders can do a mixture of 2 trails
which will extend over the 14km.
Please NOTE: we do not supply horses for the Trek.
We offer a gourmet lunch for those who would like it. This is taken out to a convenient place
somewhere on the trail and costs an extra $35 per person.
Whist on the trails, there is lots to see, including amazing views accross the Tasman,
Mt Aroha and south back to Pirongia. There is an abudance of wildlife,
from wild cockatoos, wild red deer, goats, turkeys and if lucky, wild pigs.
There are of course sheep and various breeds of cattle to be seen also.
At the end of the trail there are facilities to wash down the horses,
and for those who are staying the night, there is a home paddock for
the horses to relax and put their hooves up.
